Job Summary

The Endocrinologist Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. The Specialist provides comprehensive care for conditions including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, and pituitary disorders, while developing individualized treatment plans and delivering evidence-based medical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, evaluate, and manage a broad range of endocrine and metabolic disorders.
  • Assess and manage patients with diabetes mellitus and related complications.
  • Diagnose and treat thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, and other endocrine disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, diagnostic findings, and patient needs.
  • Interpret endocrine laboratory investigations, hormone levels, and other relevant diagnostic tests.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient endocrinology consultations.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans according to clinical response.
  • Provide diabetes education, lifestyle counseling, and ongoing patient follow-up.
  • Manage complex endocrine cases and coordinate appropriate specialist referrals when required.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and families regarding endocrine conditions, medications, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice.
  • Follow patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent).
  • Specialist Degree or Board Certification in Endocrinology & Metabolism.
  • Current medical license or eligibility for medical licensure.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant specialist experience.
  • Experience managing diabetes and a broad range of endocrine and metabolic disorders.
  • Experience providing both inpatient and outpatient endocrinology care.
  • Strong experience in endocrine diagnostic assessment and treatment planning.

Education

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent).
  • Specialist Degree/Board Certification in Endocrinology & Metabolism.

Required Certification(s)

  • Current medical license or eligibility for medical licensure.
  • Recognized specialist qualification in Endocrinology & Metabolism.

Preferred Certification(s)

  • Additional training or certification in Diabetes Management, Obesity Medicine, Thyroid Disorders, or Endocrine Ultrasound.
