Abstract
SEVERE HEMOPTYSIS REMAINS A significant medical emergency, often requiring a multidisciplinary approach to identify the bleeding source and implement effective treatment. Airway obstruction due to clots secondary to massive hemoptysis is a life-threatening complication, and conventional methods of airway management may fail, necessitating the use of advanced techniques such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Recent literature supports the feasibility of venovenous (vv) ECMO as a bridge to definitive therapy in selected cases of refractory hemoptysis.1
