This report describes the case of a 68-year-old patient (known medical history: untreated chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), ectopic atrial tachycardia, liver cirrhosis CHILD stage B, no contact with physicians for about 9 years), who was admitted to the emergency room with decompensated right heart failure due to cor pulmonale and respiratory failure type II (hypercapnia).
