Lipomatosis hypertrophy of the interatrial septum▫️ is a rare and benign cardiac pathology characterized by the accumulation of adipose tissue; according to some studies, performed on autopsy findings, it constitutes 0.6% of all benign cardiac tumors. In general, occasional autoptic findings may result in interference with cardiac mechanics, or cause abnormal rhythm patterns (supraventricular arrhythmias) and sometimes cause hemodynamic complications, until sudden death. Furthermore, lipomatous hypertrophy can give problems in the differential diagnosis with other diseases or tumors of the heart. His surgical excision leads to excellent results both in the short and long term. For this reason it should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of cardiac masses. I present a typical case of lipomatosis hypertrophy of the interatrial septum. NB.The form of lipomatous hypertrophy of the interatrial septum must make one think of the handlebars of a mountain bike.
