🎥1️⃣: This is a short axis TEE view of a normally functioning bioprosthetic aortic valve. Note the 3 struts from which the valve was constructed as well as the post surgical changes seen at the aortic root. This is the classic appearance of a typical bioprosthetic valve.
🎥2️⃣: Color doppler interrogation should be performed in all views to assess for valvular and paravalvular regurgitation. There appears to be trace central regurgitation in this view.
🎥3️⃣: A long axis view shown here shows normal opening and closing of the valve leaflets.
🎥4️⃣: The deep transgastric position at zero degrees can be used to assess for valve gradients by TEE. Here is a typical view. Color doppler shows there is some mild valvular regurgitation.
